Amazon.com Product Description Thoroughly modern and unmistakably Gucci, this leather strap watch adds a chic touch to any outfit. The distinctive G-shaped brushed steel bezel frames a perfectly round black dial with silvertone baton hands and baton indicators, an Arabic numeral 12, and a prominent Gucci label. The 28 mm round steel case presents on a black alligator-print leather strap with a steel buckle closure. Other notable features of this watch include precise Swiss quartz movement and a highly scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. This Gucci watch is rated water resistant to 30 meters. About Gucci Gucci's colorful history begins in 1921, with family patriarch Guccio Gucci selling leather travel bags out of his shop in Florence. An excellent craftsman with a taste for European cosmopolitan style, Gucci went on to create compelling designs with luxury appeal, such as the now iconic bamboo-handled "Jackie O" handbag. After Guccio Gucci's death in 1953, the company, then run by his sons, continued to flourish, opening stores in Tokyo, Paris, London, Beverly Hills, and Palm Beach. Helped along by the interest of Hollywood celebrities like Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly, the Gucci name became synonymous with high fashion. Turbulent times followed, with feuding among fiery-tempered family members nearly leading the company to bankruptcy by the early 1990s; however, new leadership, along with daring new designs by American designer Tom Ford, turned the company around. By the mid 1990s, Gucci products were once again all over Hollywood, this time being touted by the likes of Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Sarah Jessica Parker, and the Gucci name had reasserted itself as a sought-after symbol of modern chic. Today Gucci produces a varied line of beautifully designed luxury products, including jewelry, perfume, leather fashions, luggage, shoes, and watches. Gucci watches combine the elegance of Italian design with the exacting standards of Swiss craftsmanship. The results are exceptionally well-made precision timepieces with modern, sophisticated lines and celebrated Gucci style.

| Customer Reviews: I love this watch. January 18, 2008 S. L. Snyder (London, England) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
The pictures do it no justice - this watch is beautiful. I had to send my Movado in for repair and had not bought a watch in 10 years and I looked for several months, considering all types and prices of up to $1200. I found this watch at the San Marcos, Texas outlet malls in the Tourneau store for half price, which meant is was about $500. They also threw in a 3-year buckle-to-buckle warranty that covers even wear and tear for $50, which I felt was a good investment.
The watch is beautiful and I get compliments on a daily basis. It's very classy, understated, love the brushed aluminum-looking casing and the strap is real alligator, not alligator-print as listed (at least mine is real alligator), which means it doesn't seem to get scuffed up at all - very durable.
I am very happy with my investment, although I spent half of the price currently listed. Either way, I love this watch.
